NanoWriMo! + Jerzy Hacek = Awesome

I've decided that this year I will join in the great melee of florid prose, Nation Novel Writing Month!

The goal is to write a whole novel in between Novemeber 1st and November 30th. Which is great and ridiculous in all the right ways. I am over here http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/421844 anyone wanna be my writing buddy? Come on, it will be fun.

Anyway, for the novel that I am going to write I decided to do something as fun as the premise (after mulling over stretching into a genre I don't usually write for or working on a project I have yet to start). When I read superb science fiction novel Rainbows End, one of the most vocal fan bases via for influence in the book are readers of Jerzy Hacek's 'Dangerous Knowledge' series. They seek to control the VR overlay of the Geisel Library at UCSD (it's... complicated).

The 'Dangerous Knowledge' series is a set of fantastic adventures (described as rip off Pratchett) that happen in a world where books are the source of power... with Militant Librarians, Knights Guardian, library spiders and book orgies and -above all- dangerous knowledge. Sounds like the kind of series I want to read.

I was disappointed to discover that Jerzy Hacek does not exist (since him and his entire series are fictional). So I decided to do something about. While Jerzy Hacek must be forever doomed to unreality, at least the 'Dangerous Knowledge' series can come about in a strange sugar fuel binge of meta-fanfiction. Or at least that's the plan.

We'll see what happens.

Now that I have confused my audience and myself, let me just say that if you have ever considered writing a novel this is a great excuse. NaNoWriMo starts in November and I would love to be your writing buddy, so let me know!
